Wise Old Paws is a small editorial website built by people who love old dogs — the gray-muzzled, slow-walking, couch-hogging kind — and who want better, more honest buying information for their owners.
Why this site exists
Shopping for a senior dog can feel overwhelming. Every product page promises miracles, every review section reads like it was written by a marketing team, and somewhere in there is a real dog with real achy joints whose person just wants to do right by them.
We started Wise Old Paws to be the thing we wished existed: calm, honest guides that compare real products, explain what actually matters, and say plainly when something can't be verified.
How we build our guides
Our buying guides are research-based. We compile them from:
- Manufacturer information — official product specifications, ingredient lists, and warranty terms.
- Veterinary guidance summaries — widely published guidance on senior dog nutrition, joint care, and rest from veterinary sources.
- Owner feedback — what real dog owners report about how products hold up over time.
We do not claim to run laboratory tests, measure products ourselves, or conduct hands-on trials we haven't done. If we can't verify a claim, we leave it out or say so directly.
